ABOUT EAJTN
The Euro-Arab Judicial Training Network (EAJTN) has been constituted on October 12th 2010 at the Superior School of the Judiciary of Algeri (École Supérieure de la Magistrature algérienne). Member States of the Network are: France, Holland, Romania, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Egypt, Belgium, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Kuwait and Italy.
The purpose of the association is to enable to the Members serving specifically to train the judges or public prosecutors or other Members of the Judiciary in their countries, to communicate regularly, to meet, to assist one another, and to design common training programs and tools over time.
The mission of the Network is, in particular, to increase mutual understanding of legal and judicial systems and cultures; to improve the mutual use of national and international instruments for cooperation and to share professional experiences in order to get the best practices; to assist one another in implementing, reforming, or improving the institutions that train judges, public prosecutors and other Members of the Judiciary; to promote coordination among the various training programs designed by judicial training institutions; to develop common training activities and exchanges between judges, public prosecutors and other Members of the Judiciary; to develop collaborative training programs for judges, public prosecutors, other Members of the Judiciary and potentially other professionals involved in the operation of the legal system, as well as for the trainers themselves.
The Presidency of the Network has been filled by Spain for the first year and by the United Arab Emirates for the second one, with the alternation of the functions of President and Vice-President, in accordance with the Status of the Network.
In June 27 of 2012, the EAJTN HEADQUARTERS AGREEMENT was entered into between the EAJTN and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the EAJTN to operate and exercise its work in accordance with the regulations listed in the legal basis and in accordance with the articles of the headquarter agreement and Jordanian Laws. The EAJTN has a general secretariat located in Amman, The Hashemite kingdom of Jordan in the EAJTN headquarter, responsible for the administration of the EAJTN. The EAJTN General Secretariat ensures the functioning and continuity of the network.

In consideration of the rules, legal traditions and culture as well as the internal structure of each State, public institutions (such as national schools or entities, central authorities) that are specifically responsible for training judges in the Member States of the European Union and the Member States of the Arab League are eligible to become members of the Network Signatories to these articles of agreement who fulfil these conditions are fully-fledged members.
International organizations and other networks involved in judicial training may be invited to participate as observers.
PURPOSE
Our Purpose for the Judiciary of all Member States:
The Network is a non-profit association the purpose of which is to enable the institutions mentioned in Article 5 paragraph 1 below, these institutions serving specifically to train the judges or public prosecutors or other members of the Judiciary in their countries, to communicate regularly, to meet, to assist one another, and to design common training programs and tools over time.
MISSION
Work is never over to achieve Our Key mission:
- To increase mutual understanding of legal and judicial systems and cultures;
- To improve the mutual use of national and international instruments for cooperation and to share professional experiences in order to get the best practices;
- To assist one another in implementing, reforming, or improving the institutions that train judges, public prosecutors and other members of the Judiciary;
- To promote coordination among the various training programs designed by judicial training institutions;
- To develop common training activities and exchanges between judges, public prosecutors and other members of the Judiciary;
- To develop collaborative training programs for judges, public prosecutors, other members of the Judiciary and potentially other professionals involved in the operation of the legal system, as well as for the trainers themselves.
ACTIVITIES
Inspiring activities to keep the Judiciary engaged with:
- The sharing of knowledge and experience in regard to educational engineering, training techniques, and the administration of judicial training institutions, as well as any related documentation and materials;
- The organization of internships and exchanges as part of initial training as well as continuing education or the training of trainers;
- The promotion of direct contacts between the members of the network;
- The implementation of any activities promoting the knowledge and understanding of the principles of independence, competency, efficiency, and integrity of justice.
HOW DO WE WORK ?
To achieve most effective judicial cooperation on training matters, our Contact Points are always in the keen look-out for the best practices to:
- Promote judicial training cooperation between national judicial authorities of Member States;
- Provide national judicial authorities of Member States with the most up to date professional and practical information on judicial training;
- Promote the organization of judicial training programs and knowledge exchange events on judicial training cooperation;
- The National Correspondents (Secretariat) in each Member State is responsible for the internal functioning of the Network;
- The Training Correspondent in each Member State is responsible for providing and updating mutual training and events plans and their organization tools.
HOW CAN WE HELP YOU ?
The Network has been established to help Judges, Public Prosecutors, and Judiciary System Members within EAJTN Member States, in the following:
- Identify and establish direct contacts with the competent national judicial training authority in each Member State in order to participate or become a lecturer or speaker in any of our training and knowledge exchange events;
- Obtain professional and practical information on EAJTN cooperation on judicial training matters;
- Provide you with a secure and official telecommunication connexion through our authorized national correspondents (secretariat);
- Attentive communication to resolve difficulties and delays that might arise in the implementation of requests for judicial cooperation on training matters;
- Advise on the most effective approach to cooperation on training matters and redirecting your requests to the Secretariat for direct support action.
