The Euro-Arab Judicial Training Network (EAJTN) held the second General Assembly meeting for the year 2025 in the State of Kuwait on 15/12/2025, with the attendance of official representatives of the member states, totaling 16 states from the European Union and the League of Arab States, namely: Jordan, Palestine, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Belgium, and Portugal.
At the opening of the meeting, His Excellency Judge Dr. Nashat Al-Akhras, Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Network, welcomed the attendees, including directors and representatives of judicial training institutes and institutions from the member states, and thanked the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies for hosting the meeting. He also welcomed the Omani delegation and the representatives of the Judicial Training Academy / Arab Center for Legal and Judicial Research and the Malta Institute for the Rule of Law, who were invited to attend the meeting as observer members. In this context, the Secretary-General of the Network emphasized the continuation of cooperation and ensuring its sustainability to enhance the work of the Network, and handed over the floor to the Chairman of the Network’s Board of Directors, Counselor Dr. Mohammed Al-Kamali, who welcomed the attendees.
During the meeting, the presidency of the Network’s Board of Directors for the upcoming year was transferred to the French National School – Republic of France.
The members welcomed the representative of the Judicial Training Center, who participated in the meeting for the first time following the approval of their membership during the General Assembly meeting held earlier this year.
The meeting also reviewed and discussed the financial report for the year, the agenda, the assessment of the training programs implemented during 2025, and the approval of the programs planned for 2026, with the aim of strengthening the Network’s role in developing joint training programs to enhance the exchange of expertise among judges, prosecutors, and justice sector professionals.
